2U Classes

At 2UYoga, we understand that not every body is the same. Thus, we offer several styles to meet your changing needs:

Classic Yoga

Flow   A continuous flow of postures linked together by the breath, emphasizing Sun Salutations and other creative flows. This class can be customized at a level 1,2,3 level.  It is intended to build strength and flexibility.  A dynamic class designed to connect energetic muscles and a focused mind. A flow class offers the full spectrum of yoga benefits including a vigorous workout, increased flexibility and a bliss filled mind.

Basic Flow   A class built for the beginners and brand new yogis! Learn the foundations of a healthy yoga practice that will energize the body and vitalize the mind.

Power  A vigorous class of vinyasa practice, this powerful sequence builds heat and demands strength. This class takes the body from full throttle to serene soul through inversions, arm balances, and lots of chaturanga push ups!

Yin Yoga  Yin yoga class is a powerful practice which targets tendons, ligaments and fascia within the body. Each posture during a Yin yoga class is held for long periods of time to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues, leaving the yogi with an overall feeling of lightness, spaciousness and peace. A Yin yoga class is the perfect antidote to stress and a great counter balance to more active styles of yoga.

Astanga  Eight Limbed Path as taught by Sri Pattabhi Jois, the father of Flow and Power classes. This intense class involves a progressive series of precise poses produces internal heat and detoxifying sweat. During this class you will also notice increased self awareness, concentration and determination.

Yoga with Intention

Live with Intention Body Balancing Classes  A more detailed class of poses and breath giving a new understanding of whole-body patterning in posture and functions – the interplay of movement and stability.

Calm the Mind Breath and Meditation  An exploration of some of yoga’s deeper practices, including breathing techniques that quiet the mind and reduce stress as well as a wide variety of meditations that create balance and expand our potential.

Move with Grace Gentle Yoga  Gentle Yoga combines warm-ups, gentle and restorative postures, yogic breathing, and guided deep relaxation to reduce stress and increase movement and vitality. Designed for students who prefer a class less vigorous. Gentle Yoga is also ideal for students experiencing illness, injury, or chronic pain.

Mindful-Yoga  Mindful-Yoga is a natural, effective way to change your mind and change your body. It is an integrative method to achieve the body shape, weight, and feeling that is truly your own. It is the evolution of mind-body fitness that guides students through the journey of reaching goals while staying balanced and in the present moment. Whether students are working on specific goals like eating healthier and losing weight or just wanting to reach a younger, happier self, Mindful-Yoga’s unique combination of yoga and hypnosis can guide them to results more quickly.

Specialized Classes

Tai Chi This class is meditation in motion through the use of breath, Chi Gung and Tai Chi Form.   This class will help your balance, flexibility, focus strength and breath. It will encompass a mind body connection using breath to move the chi.

Yoga for Golfers  A practice built especially for those who love the dawn patrol. This hour focuses on balance, strength, back relief, and visualization. Learn to quiet the mind and direct your focus into your shot. The power of focus is fundamental to your game. Jack Nicklaus was putting for the lead in a major when a dog ran onto the green. He sunk the putt without hesitation. When asked about the distraction he replied, “What dog?”Be in the Zone with Athletic Yoga  Athletes can benefit from yoga to strengthen breath, increase flexibility and build functional muscle that will help them excel over other athletes.  Our class is designed specifically for athletes interested in using yoga to cross-train. This yoga program also builds endurance, improves focus and strengthens key muscles used in many sports.

Yoga for Runners  The impact of pounding the pavement is often felt in the legs of runners. This class will offer postures that soften the joints paying special attention to the knees. We will access the elusive focus and calm only felt on a run and bring it onto the yoga mat.

Yoga for Cyclists  This practice is for those who are no stranger to spandex! Grab your Assos wear and gear up for a class designed for a cyclist. In this practice you will utilize strength, yet release tension, relieve sore muscles and create flexibility. The focus and drive you harness on the bike will carry you through this class.

Aqua Yoga    The positive benefits of aqua yoga are seen over the long term with a gradual increase in strength, flexibility and endurance and when performed in water this increase tends to happen far more quickly and with far less chance of injury or strain which is why this newer form of yoga fitness is quickly become so popular with all types of people. Aquatic therapy, including water yoga, has also proven to be extremely useful in pain management.

Chair Yoga   When considering a Chair Yoga practice, it’s a common belief that the term refers to senior citizens, people with disabilities, the overweight or obese. Many have expressed surprise that it can relate to office employees, people sitting at a desk for hours, and those that ignore the benefits of certain postures and stretches in their own limited space.  It benefits every body part because it increases blood circulation, improves feet, toes, hand and finger movements, improves balance, flexibility and mobility, muscle and bone health.
